There are three areas within radiology – Clinical Radiology, Interventional Radiology and Nuclear Medicine. Competition for training opportunities in these specialties is high.

Clinical Radiology

Clinical radiology is concerned with using imaging to diagnose and monitor a wide range of conditions, as well as using radiological procedures as treatment options.

Interventional Radiology

Interventional radiology uses the least invasive techniques to provide a wide range of therapeutic procedures under imaging guidance, most commonly fluoroscopy but also ultrasound and computed tomography.

Nuclear Medicine

Nuclear medicine is a branch of medical imaging that uses small amounts of radioactive material to examine the physiological processes in diseases.
